Design Competition:  New Cottages at Fallingwater

Through December 31 in the Visitor Center Gallery

See how distinguished architectural practices from across the United States and Canada respond to an extraordinary challenge:  to design architecturally innovative and environmentally sustainable cottages for Frank Lloyd Wright's Fallingwater (1935-1939).  The exhibition features models and drawings from Marlon Blackwell Architect, Wendell Burnette Architects, MacKay-Lyons Sweetapple Architects, Olson Kundig Architects, Patkau Architects and Saucier + Perrotte Architects.  Informed by the unique history, design and setting of Fallingwater, these architects offer creative approaches to an American icon.

The design competition was organized by the Western Pennsylvania Conservancy, which preserves and maintains Fallingwater, through a grant from the Fine Foundation.

A lecture will also be offered with this exhibition on September 13, October 4 and October 25.  Additional lecture details coming soon.
