Fallingwater is located in southwest Pennsylvania's Laurel Highlands about 90 minutes from downtown Pittsburgh.  The house is located along PA Route 381 between the villages of Mill Run and Ohiopyle.  It is  approximately 19 miles south of the Donegal exit (Exit #91) of the Pennsylvania Turnpike (I-76) or 10 miles north of US Route 40.  

Please use caution when following directions provided by MapQuest or other similar mapping programs, as these will often place you on secondary or unpaved roads. In particular, avoid any directions that send you to Fallingwater via Tabey Road. We suggest you use the directions as printed below.

Many GPS systems indicate a location along PA Route 381 of  Kaufmann.  This is approximately the location of the entrance to Fallingwater.

From Pittsburgh area:

• Take the Parkway East (I-376) to I-76 (Pennsylvania Turnpike) at Monroeville.
• Continue east on the Turnpike to Exit 91 (Donegal).
• Turn left on to Route 31 east.
• Go 2 miles, turn right on to Route 381 south.
• Follow Route 381 south for approximately 17 miles to Fallingwater.

From Harrisburg/Philadelphia area:

• Take I-76 (Pennsylvania Turnpike) west to Exit 91 (Donegal).
• Turn left on to Route 31 east
• Go 2 miles, turn right on to Route 381 south.
• Follow Route 381 south for approximately 17 miles to Fallingwater.

From Baltimore/Washington DC area:

• Take I-70 west to Hancock, MD.
• Take I-68 west to Exit 14 (Keyser’s Ridge/Uniontown).
• Turn left on to Route 40, and continue west to Farmington, PA.
• Turn right on to Route 381 north and travel approximately 10 miles to Fallingwater.

From Cleveland, Ohio area:

• Take I-80 (Ohio Turnpike) east to I-76 (Pennsylvania Turnpike).
• Continue east to Exit 91 (Donegal).
• Turn left on to Route 31 east.
• Go 2 miles, turn right on to Route 381 south.
• Follow Route 381 south for approximately 17 miles to Fallingwater.

From Columbus, Ohio and Wheeling,
West Virginia area:

• Take I-70 east to PA Route 51.
• Go south on Route 51 to Uniontown.
• Take Route 40 east from Uniontown to Farmington, PA.
• Turn left on to Route 381 north, and travel approximately 10 miles to Fallingwater.

From Greensburg, PA:

• Take Route 30 east to Ligonier.
• Turn right on to Route 711 south, and follow the signs for Route 711 south to Normalville (there are 3 marked turns).
• At Normalville, turn left on to Route 381 south and follow for approximately 8 miles to Fallingwater.

From Morgantown, WV:

• Take I-68 east to Cheat Lake.
• Take Route 857 north to Route 43 north to Uniontown, PA.
• Take Route 40 east to Farmington.
• Turn left on to Route 381 north and follow for approximately 10 miles to Fallingwater

From Altoona/State College, PA:

• Take I-99 south to Altoona.
• Take Route 22 west to Ebensburg.
• Take Route 219 south to Somerset.
• Take Route 281 south to Route 31 west to Jones Mills.
• Turn left on to Route 381 south and follow approximately 17 miles to Fallingwater.
