The weeklong summer High School Residency programs at Fallingwater emphasize architecture as a participatory art form that engages the body, mind, and spirit.
By experiencing Fallingwater first-hand, students gain a unique understanding of the built environment from physical, psychological, and historical perspectives and then apply what they’ve learned in creative design studios. Faculty from many architecture-related disciplines lead intense study sessions and workshops, giving students a strong foundation in the art and philosophy underlying architecture.

Facilities
Student residents live dormitory-style at the Kirkpatrick House, a split-level house located on the scenic Bear Run Nature Reserve, within walking distance from Fallingwater. The highlands setting, with unsurpassed views of nearby Laurel Ridge, will recharge your creativity…and your spirit. College architecture majors serve as counselors-in-residence for the program.
We hold classes at the adjacent open-air studio and on-site at Fallingwater. The group prepares breakfast and some evening meals; we eat lunch at the Fallingwater Café, which features delicious, fresh cooking based on seasonal ingredients.
If you're looking for even more natural inspiration, the Nature Reserve boasts more than 20 miles of hiking trails in the Bear Run watershed.
